For those of you that haven’t heard :: Bea Arthur becomes a mother to Larry David

It’s a casting choice made in TV heaven, as the inimitable Beatrice Arthur reveals she’ll be going in next week to play Larry David’s mother on a future installment of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

What, you say Larry’s mother died in season three of the HBO hit? Well, you’re right, but why should that stop them?

“I’m doing a dream sequence. I’m just thrilled to do that show. I can’t wait,” says the Broadway great, whose TV contributions include “Maude” and “The Golden Girls” — the latter of which gets its second-season DVD release today. She notes, “There are so few shows I really watch. I love ‘The Daily Show’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ and other than that it’s news or old movies.”

Also, Amazon is now taking pre-orders for Golden Girls season 3 at a nice price point. Reserve your copy today via the link to the right!

Speaking of which, According to Rue McClanahan, the DVD of the third season of “The Golden Girls” is being released in November (22nd). Because Rue is currently appearing in Broadway’s “Wicked” (and can’t get away for a few months), Bea and Betty White are due to fly to NYC for a signing.

Are Bea and Betty still expected to come to town for a signing? If so, do you know where and when?
